Balco attended at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for the second year in a row. At the exhibition a historic moment for the Australian agricultural sector took place when Balco and Modern Farm signed a sales agreement for organic Oaten Hay in the presence of the Australian Ambassador to China. This will be the first time that Australia will export organic Oaten Hay to China. The sales agreement will see Balco supply 3,000 tonnes of organic Oaten Hay to Modern Farm. Balco’s organic Oaten Hay, which holds the high standards of dual certification in Australia and China, is a further expansion of Australian agricultural products into the global supply chain and contributes to the continued development of China’s dairy industry.
With the increasing global focus on environmental issues, especially in the agricultural sector, sustainability continues to be at front of mind for Balco’s leadership. Our company is focused on adopting responsible sourcing and production practices that prioritise animal health and welfare. The production and export of organic Oaten Hay corresponds with our strategy of sustainability. Balco’s organic Oaten Hay is produced in accordance with strict standards of natural farming without chemical fertilisers and pesticides.
The supply agreement represents not only a successful business co-operation but is also an important symbol of the relationship between Australia and China in agricultural trade.
