For those of us deeply rooted in Australian agriculture, the sight of smoke on the horizon carries a weight that is hard to describe. It threatens not just the landscape, but the livelihoods of the growers and livestock producers who form the backbone of our nation.
This week, Balco made a modest contribution online to support three local fire stations in Victoria. We don’t mention this to seek applause, but to shine a light on the quiet heroism of the CFA volunteers who put their lives on the line when the heat rises.
To us, supporting these brigades isn’t just charity; it is a duty. These men and women are the first line of defence for our partners. They protect the paddocks where our oats grow and the farms where Australian livestock rely on secure feed supplies.
Balco has always believed that being part of a community means showing up when it matters. While we work to secure the supply chain through resilient logistics, our local fire brigades are the ones securing the very land we all depend on.
To every volunteer out there holding the line: Thank you. We are proud to stand behind you, just as we stand behind our farmers.
